Big figure with mixed results

I recently picked up Ultimate Optimus from my local grocery store while shopping and the first i thought to myself was holy cow. Get him home and play around with him for a bit and i was like okay big bot but sadly lacking in some movement. The truck and trailer mode is really big at over 18 inches long he easily takes a good bit of space on my shelf. The base robot has a really simple transformation sequence. Of course the one main glaring point for the base robot is the simple fact that the front portion of the cab is his forearms. Not a big problem since Optimus still has decent articulation and his able to hold his Voyager class weapon in his hand. Transforming the trailer can be a bit of a pain since the wings do like popping off from the arms if your not that careful. Once the trailer is done and you get Optimus inside he dwarfs all other transformers in any collection with the exception of Unicron and Primus along with Fort Max and the base transformers Metroplex and Trypticon. The only downside is the simple fact in combined mode you can only move his arms a bit and spread out his legs while moving his ankles around for a solid base.
The BFG (Big Frigging Gun) that Optimus carries underneath his trailer houses all of the lights and sounds so you don't have to worry about dealing with crazy noises during transformation of the trailer or Optimus. Having Optimus hold the BFG makes him seem very imposing with it pointed at any Decepticon looking for a fight since that gun could blast a hole right through the Con's chassis without any effort. In the end if you happen to pick up the biggest prime toy to be sold just make certain that everything is attached and the armor is not missing any pieces. When i first got Optimus and was about to leave the store i saw that one piece was missing from his toe in combined mode so i returned it and thankfully they had more in stock so i can enjoy it. Also when transforming Optimus back into truck mode make certain to take care when bringing down the side portion with the gas tanks and keep an eye out for stress marks. I have watched reviews done by both Peaugh and Optibotimus and there were some signs of stress marks on the figure. In closing good figure for a display piece and fairly affordable if you don't want to pay a large amount of money for the Jet Wing Optimus Prime from Takara. I paid only $70 after tax so i would say pick him up or wait for a markdown.
