Great Figure

All around great figure. It fooled a lot of people. The transformation sequence is one of the most interesting aspects of this figure. Highly Recomend

Absolutely worth the money

I added this to a big order because I like weird novelty robots, and at thirty bucks, why not take a chance? That chance paid off. Right away I was impressed with the sturdiness. For a completely flat figure, this does not feel flimsy. This is good plastic, smooth hinges, nice little ratchets, and just the right amount of tabs to hold everything together.

The pad mode isn't going to fool anyone, but the robot that comes out of it is surprisingly nifty. There's some especially clever origami in the legs to give them weight, and huge feeties make him stand solidly. The chest is so simple yet looks striking. And I don't know why I am so in love with the fact that his head assembles from three slices.

If poseability is your thing, you might want to pass. He can't do much more than stand there. And yes there's partsforming (though the backpack can stay on during transformation), but this does mean the guns can plug together into a nice rifle. Also, I'd worried the shield would seem awkward or out of proportion. Nope, looks fine to me. He ends up not looking very much like Soundwave though. (No shoulder mount? Really!?) So I just think of him as one of those random devices given life by the Allspark.

Minor qualm: my figure didn't come with a back panel to cover up the robot bits. Not sure if this was a fluke or if the gold version just doesn't have that.

At the cost of a Voyager, this is absolutely worth it. The transformation is straight-up fun, and it's the sort of figure you can put on display and people will ask, "What IS that?"

Terrible MI Pad, But AMAZING Transformer

Now jokes aside, this guy is just a great purchase while it Is on sale and I recommend getting him while you can.

This version of Soundwave has some clever little transformation bits to him that get you from a really good looking Tablet form to a sleek slender bot mode.

really cool Engineering!

Picked this up just because it was cheap and looked neat to be honest. Kind of taken aback by the engineering in this thing. Transformation to robot was easier than I thought, and back to tablet took way les effort than I expected.....and it locked together so tight later that day I confused it for my actual 7" tablet. very cool piece. glad I snagged it. looks good in my oddball category shelf. :0)
