The 70 most WTF errors in Carnage in C-Minor (part 2)

COUNTDOWN: The 70 most WTF errors in Carnage in C-Minor (part 2)

Welcome to the second part of our deep dive into all the many things wrong with the notorious Transformers G1 season 3 episode, Carnage in C-Minor! Be sure to catch up with part 1 first before continuing (at your peril) below…

#35:

Again, you might think we’re all good here, except Hot Spot isn’t even meant to be in this scene; Broadside is. Hot Spot stayed behind with Perceptor earlier in the episode (after, y’know, randomly appearing out of nowhere, to begin with). So how did he get here? And where is Broadside now?

ERROR COUNT: 1

#34:

Galvatron has purple boots. To go with his lilac pants, I guess?

ERROR COUNT: 1

#33:

Also, I’m adding another point for whatever this scene transition is. Worse still, it happens twice in quick succession as they re-used the clip.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#32:

Perhaps it’s not technically an error but no one laughs like this. Not even Galvatron, who is confirmed to be as mad as a bag of cats, laughs like this.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#31:

Galvatron stands up so quickly that the animators didn’t have time to draw the background for this scene!

ERROR COUNT: 1

#30:

“Yes, I know you need this fight scene to be twice as long but we’re on a tight budget here! OK, let’s just re-use the same footage again but we’ll flip it so no one will ever notice.”

ERROR COUNT: 1

#29:

In the lastest faction-flipping moment, Blaster briefly contemplates a move to the dark side.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#28:

This is cinema.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#27:

Let’s not worry about how Blaster is able to sit with his toes visible like that and instead consider that he’s randomly pointing his gun at the humanoid characters as one of them lies dying. It’s more notable because he has not held his gun in any of the previous scenes up until this point – it was literally added just for this moment.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#26:

Broadside AND Blaster are apparently now not much bigger than human size. I give up.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#25:

Blaster is suddenly a bit bigger, except now Ultra Magnus has a weird visor and he’s randomly talking in Blaster’s voice here.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#24:

There’s never really been any consistency about the Autobots flying in this cartoon but given Blaster and Magnus have spent a fair bit of this story being chauffeured around by Broadside, it seems odd they suddenly remember they have the ability right now.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#23:

I’m being a bit nitpicky again, but we now return to the other battle involving the Constructicons and somehow, against all logic, Soundwave is part of it. I suppose I shouldn’t question it but anyway…

ERROR COUNT: 1

#22:

Maybe this is perspective. The most extreme perspective you’ve ever seen. Maybe.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#21:

Hot Spot has remembered he’s supposed to be back fighting alongside Perceptor but somehow, he’s forgotten he doesn’t have a mouth.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#20:

Here’s Defensor! Yep, the big lug crops up rather randomly even though only ONE of the Protectobots has been in the story up until this point. And if you think that’s strange…

ERROR COUNT: 1

#19:

Priceless. Absolutely priceless.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#18:

Is that Long Haul? I think it’s meant to be Long Haul. Either that or it’s Armada Scavenger.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#17:

Quick update: Broadside is small again. Oh, and Magnus has a strangely coloured chest and Perceptor… no, I have no idea what he’s doing.

ERROR COUNT: 2

#16:

“Forced perspective”

ERROR COUNT: 1

#15:

Galvatron is every bit as intrigued by Soundwave’s colour-changing chest as we are!

ERROR COUNT: 1

#14:

Soundwave emits the new harmony weapon as an attack on the Autobots. Of course, you’d expect those green waves to be coming from Soundwave, wouldn’t you, but you can’t have everything, you know.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#13:

Perceptor models the latest fashion in how to wear one’s shoulder cannon at a jaunty angle.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#12:

Maybe not an outright *error* but no one will ever convince me this shot is correctly composed.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#11:

Fun fact: a second ago, Galvatron and Soundwave were on the ground. Now they’re weirdly hovering in mid-air as this beam of sonic energy is shot at them. Does it matter? Eh.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#10:

I’ve heard of mass shifting but Soundwave is mahoosive now!

ERROR COUNT: 1

#9:

This is actually my favourite single shot in the whole episode. No, seriously, I love it. Just… everything about it.

ERROR COUNT: 4

#8:

Blaster and Soundwave have a moment and the latter strangely displays a Decepticon symbol on his back for no apparent reason.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#7:

This fight is so vicious it’s not happening in mid-air!

ERROR COUNT: 1

#6:

Blaster wins! He throws his opponent to the ground and proudly stands there on absolutely nothing to take in his victory.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#5:

“I demand my toys be cartoon accurate.”

The cartoon:

ERROR COUNT: 1

#4:

I give up.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#3:

I don’t know if this is a legit error or just Blaster chasing after Bonecrusher here but either way, it’s all kinds of weird.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#2:

Ultra Magnus is rocking a cool pair of shades here – nice! Shame they don’t match his eyes from literally the previous shot.

ERROR COUNT: 1

#1:

And, just to finish us off, Broadside is now… medium? I guess? Blaster is a bit smaller. Oh, and Hot Spot is big now. Of course!

ERROR COUNT: 1

FINAL TALLY: 95(!)

So, that’s our list! If you still fancy giving the episode a go, check it out on Hasbro Pulse and see how many other errors you can spot…
