best wheelie but be cautious
By Chris Jouglard on July 29, 2015
I am sure everything has been said about this figure. people love to hate it. Personally I think its great. the plastic quality is really good, robot mode looks identical to the cartoon as does his vehicle. well articulated. His transformation is very scary when it comes to the upper body. you have to be very careful when folding and bending things. Like Kumastyle reviews mentioned you have to brace the hinges on those parts which helps a lot, makes the transformation go smoother. his hips are stupid loose lol but I just added some nail hardener to them and it tightened him up nicely. I would say you shouldn't have to do this but I mean ive went through far worse with making my KO Mp 12 work right so hes not nothing you cant fix. just really be careful. got some thin bits that feel fragile. so far I haven't broken anything on him or turbo. but I don't recommend transforming him to vehicle a whole lot. might not last.
Very nice MP Wheelie, but be gentle...

Personally I think it is maybe he best-looking Masterpiece-like Wheelie around. The robot mode is nearly perfect and the car mode does well.
That being said, the plastic is too bendy... which can be good because some parts get stuck (especially the rear car sides) when transforming, Be gentle or they could break.
The legs are tricky to put back into car mode. The hip piece gives a lot of trouble when snapping the legs back in car mode. They´re also a litle loose when you have to stand the robot.
Other than that, it is a great piece. Stands almost as tall as MP Bumblebee and a perfect addition for any MP collector.
Great looking figure, but very fidgety

I'm sure that everything that needs to be said about this figure has already been said, and pretty much everything is true, but just wanted to add my two cents. It's a GREAT looking figure. The sculpt is very striking, and he is aesthetically pleasing. The thing is, Wheelie is a small character, and the amount of engineering that was thought up for this guy basically makes his transformation very scary (even though it is very clever). Because of his size, the plastic has to be thin, and it look like the QC is OK, but not great (mine had stress marks on some joints right out of the box). I'm sure that is has been mentioned, but his thigh joints are very loose (the ball and socket connection that attaches to the thigh swivel is very tight, but the thigh swivel itself is VERY loose), and the choice of the placement of several components limits his leg articulation. Also, the ankle tilts on mine are very loose as well, but this doesn't really affect the stability of the figure, because they really don't have anywhere to go.
Bottom line, great looking figure, inventive engineering concept with just OK execution (I'm sure the cad design looked awesome, but for such a small figure it is scary transforming him). Kind of sad I paid full price for him, and if you do end up getting him, don't be surprised with how tiny he is, because he is a VERY small minibot (the box itself is about half the size of the Xtransbots Krank box).
Good but

+Alt Mode looks like cartoon.
+Robot Mode looks like cartoon.
+ Completely articulated!
- Wheels don't roll.
- Had to dissemble to transform him. First time for this on any bot.
- Design: Parts that need to move to transform that I was afraid would break. Was made soft plastic on purpose there. Will never transform him back to alt because of this. Needed future shine in some areas ... waist and thighs way loose.
Other parts so tight I was afraid I would break it.. Had to loosen screws or support heavily moving them. Maybe I added half a star to convince myself I didn't pay too much. Not fun for transform. Fun for Robot Mode.
+ Good size and sculpt.
Other: Keep G1 Wheelie figure for Alt mode insert in collection.
This IS Wheelie- but beware!

When Takara gets around to giving Wheelie an MP upgrade, I have a hard time believing they will give him a better sculpt and transformation than this. It's just about perfect. That being said, have some tools on hand when transforming him. There are 2 sections near the backpack which need to be shaved down to relieve some stress, and the back wheels are put on with super tiny screws which will strip out with the slightest pressure. You will need to modiy this figure, but if you want an MP Wheelie, it's worth it.
