Heavily flawed, but has its perks.
By Hyoumaru on January 17, 2019
As the very first figure ever to represent the lesser known Dinobot "Paddles", Planet X's Triton, a retool of their earlier Neptune figure, is something of a mixed bag.

The good: Triton's design in both robot and elasmosaur modes is a wonderful sight to behold, massive and robust in form and function. The combination of painting and lightpiping really helps the design stand out in a shelf, while strong double-hinged knees help to keep a good range of poses standing. In the most pronounced feature however, Triton features a total of six weapons; two short swords, the tail-spear, and best of all, two massive cannons with two changeable grips to allow for both hand-held and peghole mounting depending on your choice.

The bad: Unfortunately, there's more to detail in Triton's flaws. In Robot mode, Triton lacks ankle and foot articulation of any sort, which can sometimes cause trouble when posing him. The joints used in his arm construction is also made of pinned hinges as opposed to ratcheted joints, which results in weak joint tolerances that can cause trouble when trying to get him to hold his weapons. The transformation, while relatively simple, is fairly difficult to actually do due to the overly-tight knee tolerances and weak arm tolerances. Lastly, Triton's elasmosaur neck is the figure's biggest issue, due to a thin tab being the only thing that holds the sadly under-articulated neck in place.

Overall, Triton should only be bought by those fully aware of the figure's benefits and flaws. Please research before committing to buy.
Cool looking but disappointing
By JD on January 14, 2019
Triton looks great in both robot mode and dinosaur mode but his elbow joints arn't strong enough to hold up his weapons despite the images showing him doing so. Also, the peg on one of the guns broke off in my Triton's paddle so now that peg hole is unusable and that gun is obviously short a peg. It honestly makes me regret buying the figure because I've owned it for less than 15 minutes and it's already got.
Honestly, I got my figure elsewhere, but these issues seem to prevalent with all Triton figures so I felt it necessary to let others know. Hopefully, anyone else buying the figure doesn't have these issues.
