Hopes were high for yesterday’s Hasbro Pulse fanstream as Transformers collectors eagerly awaited a big reveal. Fortunately, we were not disappointed…

Yes, the newest Haslab crowdfunded project is a brand new Deathsaurus! We were treated to loads of details about this stunning figure, which is still clearly in the prototype stage, as orders were immediately opened alongside the reveal.
Check out part 1 in case you missed it, as we explored some background on the character and this new toy design, before continuing below…
#16: He features his ‘Eaglechest Micromaster’

Of course, the toy is stacked with gimmicks, too, including Deathsaurus’ signature Breastforce partners. For the Haslab effort, they’ve been re-named as ‘Micromaster chest animals’, with Eaglebreast now known as ‘Eaglechest’. It’s not hard to see why such a change has been made, although the idea of them being Micromasters of some kind is indeed new! Whatever the name on the box, there’s no denying this winged fellow does a great job bringing the eagle companion to life, and it’ll be fun to see how it transforms to form part of Deathsaurus’ chest.
#15: The Eaglechest Micromaster can transform into a blaster

There’s more, as Eaglechest can transform into a handheld blaster for Deathsaurus, just as is witnessed in the Victory cartoon. It looks very accurate to the screen and gives the big guy a bit of added armament, too.
#14: He also features his ‘Tigerchest Micromaster’

The second animal company is also present and correct, as Tigerbreast is now known as ‘Tigerchest’. This guy has always been more akin to a tiny monster than a straight-up tiger and features the horns along his sides that you can usually see adorning Deathsaurus’ chest.
#13: The Tigerchest Micromaster can transform into a bow

The Victory cartoon gave Tigerbreast the ability to turn into a bow and arrow weapon, and whilst this wasn’t something the 1989 toy could replicate, the new Haslab Tigerchest certainly can! That’s an incredibly nifty and rather unexpected bonus feature and is sure to create quite a big dollop of play value. Love it.
#12: Deathsaurus is equipped with a massive sword

In addition to his Micromaster companions, Deathsaurus can also wield a rather giant sword accessory, which looks remarkably accurate to his weapon from the cartoon. Deadly stuff, indeed.
#11: He is also equipped with his ‘deathtailer shield’

The final gimmick included with the toy before the stretch goals should be familiar to anyone who’s seen the cartoon or the original figure, as it’s a shield made up of Deathsaurus’ alternate mode tail. It detaches and splits open to peg onto his shoulder, looking impressive in the process.
#10: The first Tier 1 stretch goal is a spiked flail

As expected with Haslab projects, there are several stretch goals included for Deathsaurus. Tier 1 unlocks once the project hits 14,000 backers and involves several weapons and other accessories. The first is the character’s signature spiked flail weapon, which he regularly wields in the cartoon. Although it was sort of present on the G1 toy, it was moulded statically in place on its blaster weapon, so seeing it here is quite exciting. The mace is attached to a sizeable articulated chain, so this one could prove good fun for photos.
#9: The second Tier 1 stretch goal is a ‘living-metal-destroying cannon’

Another Tier 1 goal is Deathsaurus’ so-called ‘living-metal-destroying cannon’, which features a few times during the span of the Victory cartoon after debuting with the first episode. It has several cables which attach to Deathsaurus himself to give it more power, with a full blast destroying any metal it hits! Given that this weapon didn’t feature on the G1 figure, it would be ideal to see this one realised in toy form at long last!
#8: The cannon can be used in alternate mode, too

It may look ever-so-slightly goofy, but the living-metal-destroying cannon can also be wielded in Deathsaurus’ alternate mode, as seen in the cartoon. Because why not?
#7: The final Tier 1 stretch goal is a set of blast effects pieces

The final Tier 1 goal is two blast effects pieces, each separating into three components. We have yet to determine what colour these will be, but they should prove great for display or photos.
#6: The blast effect pieces can be used in alternate mode, too

As well as working with Deathsaurus’ blasters, the effects pieces can be used for his alternate form, functioning as flame breath or rockets protruding from his feet. Nifty!
#5: The first Tier 2 stretch goal is an adjustable display stand

Tier 2 of incentives is unlocked at 17,000 backers and looks to include some very intriguing elements. The first is a display stand to mirror the one included with Haslab Victory Saber (which was also a stretch goal and unlocked during that figure’s crowdfund process). The toy can be mounted on the stand in robot mode to create all kinds of posing options.
#4: The display stand can be used for alternate mode too

The stand is adjustable and can be positioned at an angle as shown, allowing it to perfectly fit the alternate mode for Deathsaurus, too. Perfect for those who want their death chicken flying through the air!
#3: Another tier 2 stretch goal is an ‘Emporer’s Throne’

Here’s where things get very interesting, as the final incentive for Tier 2 is a sizeable throne accessory, complete with a moulded finish and an imposing Decepticon symbol at the top. Deathsaurus can sit on the throne in his robot mode, which is very apt for the Emporer of Destruction, after all!
#2: The throne recreates his iconic cartoon appearance

As well as being a bit of fun, the throne is another fantastic nod towards the Victory cartoon, as this is exactly how Deathsaurus presents himself on screen! Complete with Eaglechest pegged on top, it’s a near-perfect recreation of the animation and looks nothing shy of brilliant. I sincerely hope we make it this far!
#1: Crowdfunding ends on 12th December!

So, are you convinced yet? If so, the crowdfund for Deathsaurus is open NOW, and you have until the 12th of December to place an order. I’ve seen a few questions about when Hasbro Pulse will charge you for this item, but even if you confirm your order today, all payments will be taken on the 13th of December as and when the toy is officially backed. The project hit an exceptional 4,000 backers within the first twelve hours, meaning it’s already off to an impressive start. Let’s hope it makes it and smashes those stretch goals, too!
So that’s our list! Are you excited about Haslab Deathsaurus?
