Toy Review: DX9 Chigurh – The Source Report

Toy Review: DX9 Chigurh

DX9 Chigurh

Is it the Astrotrain we’ve been waiting on?

Dx9 really hit a home run with this homage to Astrotrain. A strong aesthetic with G1-toon-orionted colors and transformation process between its three modes that was very fluid for me even without instructions really makes this product a winner for me.

I feel that the biggest objection that people will have will be the stylization of this toy rather than it being more slavish to the G1 cartoon. There also may be some pushback on the fact that the panel that makes up the back of the train is parts-forming. Regardless of your aesthetic tastes, the undeniable pieces are that this product is solid and a very intuitive transformation between all three of its modes. This one was a treat to review.
