awesomeness!

Drift is uniquely awesome! I know a lot of people are against him but I personally think that hes a really good figure. His transformation is really interesting and has a lot of ways you can pose him in a lot of different ways. In robot mode his long sword can be held by both hands, and on his back the piece that holds the long sword can extend out so its not there isn't much pressure on the sword when its being stored. All in all, very cool and awesome figure!

I'm not that familiar w/ Drift's characterization, but the toy drew my interest immediately w/ all the Japanese on him! (some people mistakenly think the symbols are Cybertronian characters, they aren't)
Between TFW2005.com's review/ discussion page for him & Google Translator, I've verified what the Japanese translates to:
Sword: "2nd to none under the Heavens"
Doors: "Samurai"
The only 2 issues I have w/ Drift are:
1) his long sword is rubbery & prone to bend
2) no waist joint, but that was expected.
Yes, there's a bit of shoulder kibble, but it doesn't get in the way. The doors double as scabbards for his short swords.
The transformation is unique to the mold, interesting, & fun. None of his blades need to be removed for transformation, but the long sword may bend if one isn't careful.
Despite not having a waist joint, Drift has a lot of possibility if you utilize all the joints he does have. He can even two-hand his long sword! Or dual wield long & short (or both short). I also like how his front wheels kind of look like bucklers (small shields worn on the forearm from medieval times). Since his legs are so big, they balance him well enough to pose him kicking! That's right, Hasbro finally designed a Martial Arts TransFormer that can practice the Martial Arts! About time!!
Also, the main slot for storing his long sword in both modes (under the car & on his back) is on a double hinge, so that in robot mode, the bendy sword can be angled away from his legs, so that the sword doesn't touch anything while it hangs.
I recommend Generations Drift to any TF fan that doesn't have an issue w/ his character & doesn't mind the bendy long sword w/ fitting Japanese writing along the blade. I'm actually surprised Hasbro put/ left the Japanese characters on an American released figure!
He's like Deadpool... only... cooler

After buying issue 1 and 3 of IDW's drift comic, i couldn't wait to get my hands on his toy, and i couldn't be happyier. Drift has done the near immpossible, overthrough optimus as my favorite transformer. He comes with 3 baldes, 2 small buthcher knives and 1 ammazing looking sword covered in cybertronian hiroglyphs. His Alt.mode is an amazing looking sports car, a spoiler smooth curves Japanese tattos, it feels like something from the FAST AND FURIOUS movies. It's no wonder why they used Drifts body mold for Generations blur, it is that good. Drift is as an awsome toy as he is an awsome character in the comics, and with the Transformers Collectors Club revealling that one of 2012's club exclusives is a shattered glass version of drift, it'll be hard to get enough money to buy both SG Drift and the rest of the Hercules combiners.
